The Business and Innovation Agency (API)

The Business and Innovation Agency (API) is a State contributory organisation with a national scope, subordinated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. It is the intermediate body for aid programmes of the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness (OP EIC 2014-2020) and the Operational Program Technologies and Application for Competitiveness (OP TAC 2021-2027).

API was established by Act No 149/2016 Coll. amending Act No 47/2002 Coll. on support for small and medium-sized enterprises and amending Act No 2/1969 Coll. on establishing ministries and other central bodies of State administration of the Czech Republic, as amended, in force since 1 June 2016.API is a service office governed by Act No 234/2014 Coll. on Civil Service, as amended.

  • we administer business support under OP EIC and OP TAC
  • the OP EIC and OP TAC are targeted at a wide range of development needs of enterprises of all sizes
  • we support projects focused on research, development and innovation, technological development, ICT and eco-energy programmes
